A grandiose mountain landscape on the southern rim of the Alps. Picturesquely situated in this landscape is Bressanone: with a 1000 years of history, the oldest town in Tyrol. A town with many different titles: university town, congress town, cultural centre and of course a place for indulgence! Brixen is not only the most northerly wine-making town in Italy. Bressanone is also the home of the tradition "Törggelen" - the local autumn custom of sampling the new wines along with a traditional snack. The colourful comings and goings in the alcoves and side streets, the handsome town houses, the cathedral, the Neustift monastery, castles and stately homes and a varied cultural programme all give Brixen a special feel.
